The "Sauss Ente" was a German special edition produced in 1987. It was based on a Bamboo green German-specification 2CV6 Club, thus had reclining seats in addition to the usual Club specification, with the addition of graphics applied by the dealer. 2CVs were known as "ducks" ("ente") in Germany and the graphics show a duck wearing a leather aviator’s helmet trying to take off. The decal also includes the words "Von 0 auf 100 in 59.4 S" which translates to "0 to 60km/h in 59.4 seconds". A reversing light was fitted under the rear bumper.
The Sauss Ente was fitted with a M28/1 602cc engine tuned for better emission values for the German market. This engine was the A06/664. For this engine Citroën reduced the compression from 8.5:1 (A06/635) to 7.9:1 (A06/664). This slightly reduced the power from 29HP to 28HP but the lower engine compression also means the engine needs only 91 octane petrol. Citroén’s marketing for the Sauss Ente stressed it’s frugality along with the light-hearted references to its speed.
The Sauss Ente cost DM 9,150 including VAT and 400 were produced.
