These cars were first produced in July 1980, following the release of the James Bond movie "For Your Eyes Only", one of the 2CV’s most famous film appearances. It is not strictly a special edition - more a happening. The Citroën advertising men thought to produce a limited number of these cars to put into their showrooms purely for display purposes. The 2CV fraternity thought differently and asked to buy them. So, decals of '007' and the 'gun' and 'bullet holes' were delivered to all the dealers to allow people who bought a yellow 2CV to have the option of '007 ing' their car. The car was based on a 2CV Club in Jaune Mimosa.

Film Facts: The cars used for the film were reinforced and strengthened by building a complete frame within the car and a frame under the floor. Also, the 602cc engines were replaced with 1015cc units from the Citroën GS. They sounded like a GS, so a special exhaust system had to be made to make them sound authentic! Koni shock absorbers were added to the front and an Ami anti-roll bar was fitted. The cars were able to perform incredible feats. In one memorable scene, James Bond drove down a mountainside in Corfu, hurtled through the orange groves and made a leap over a Peugeot car! One of the cars used in the film is in a private collection of a Citroën enthusiast in the North of England.
